Laundry nightmares

We came back from our trip to Utah this summer only to find a flooded house. Come to find out we had a slab leak and for at least a weak(0r more) our house slowly filled up with water. It flooded every room in our house and damaged walls, carpet and furniture. We could even see mold growing on the top of our carpet. It was horrible. We were already packed from our trip so we just got back in the car and went over to the Hyatt where we stayed for 2 weeks. During this time our house started on fire. Yes, ON FIRE! Luckily Monica, Cara and I happened to stop by for some laundry and smelled smoke. I called 911 and all the kids came and watched as the fireman plowed into our house with an ax. They thought that was something. Our insurance helped us find a really nice rental and we stayed there for the next 2 months. Monica took this picture of me after we loaded all the clothes in my van and brought them to the rental. I was folding and hanging laundry in my dreams.

More of Summer 09!

It wouldn't be camping with out a dirty face and a few bruises. The kids went camping with the Pace Family while Jon and I stayed home to take care of a flooded house. They had so much fun. Jon and I went up for dinner one night and a fun hike. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Pace for a fun week-end on the Rim.

Summer Fun Continues!

Jon and I celebrated our 15th Wedding Anniversary. We went to Manti, where we were married, and stayed in a bed and breakfast. It was a great week-end.

We met the Laura Housley and her kids at Capital Reef National Park. Then we went to Fishlake and had a hot dog roast. The kids got really brave and even went for a swim. They're are crazy. I won't even wade in that water it's so cold.
Riley and Kade enjoyed picking Grandma Ogden's cherries of her tree. Not as much as eating the yummy desert we made from the cherries.
Wade made it all the way to the top and all the way down. That's a ton of steps for a 4 year old. Way to go WADE!

Summer 2009

We hiked to Silver Lake in American Fork Canyon with the Anderson's and Mike and Wade. We were as high as the glaciers in July. Wow, what a beautiful hike.
Riley went to his first Scout Camp at Camp Raymond.

Fishing with Grandpa at Fishlake.
Just some of the many wonderful memories of Summer 2009.

Happy Halloween!

It's amazing how fast time can go by. We have been busy being busy. This year for Halloween Kade was an Iron Chef. Bree was a fairy. And Cole was Rocky. Riley had a meeting in conjunction with Stake Conference so he was a Deacon for Halloween. We had a great time. This year I was sick so Jon and I didn't dress up. There's always next year.
Watching the kids count, sort and trade candy, took me back in time. I loved doing that. Let's just hope the candy disappears faster than mine use to. I would try and stretch the candy until Christmas. Bree and Cole spent a good two hours after the ward party with their candy. I learned that Bree is the sweet tooth in the family. She prefers sugar candy and we all prefer chocolate. Everyone was willing to trade with Bree. She scored this year!!!

Shopaholic Fun!!

My Friends and I made shopaholic cups and enjoyed a night at the movies.  We had so much fun!  Everyone kept asking about our fabulously glittered cups.  (Monica should really go into business.)  The movie was good but I have to admit it made me want to go shopping. BAD! Thanks girls for a wonderful night!

Meeting the Mayor

In November Kade received the Student of the Month Award for Quartz Hill and was invited to meet the mayor.  In January Riley received the Student of the Month Award and was invited to meet the mayor.  We found out that the mayor looks at about nine nominees and picks one from each school in Gilbert.  We think it's a wonderful coincidence that he picked brothers within just a few months of each other.  We are still waiting to get a picture of Kade.  My camera was broken and a friend took a picture for me.
Mayor Steve Berman, Riley, and Riley's teacher (Miss Brennan) @ town council meeting after he got the award.

Top Ten Christmas Memories

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day at home then we spent a night in Vegas with Kate and Jer on our way to Utah.  We were able to stay a week in Utah.  There was tons of snow and we had the time of our lives.
#1 Jon and Jeremy's cooking.  We never stopped eating thanks to Jon and Jer's yummy food.  Wow!  what chef's.

#2 Cousins visiting from Spanish Fork.  Marty and Iralee met us at Mom's and we went bowling and out to dinner.  It was a blast.  Thanks for driving all the way down to see us!!!
#3 Bree and Madison dressing up in Grandma's clothes.

#4 Sitting by the fire and reading my book.  I think living in AZ has made my blood thin.  I spent 95% of my time warming up by the fire.  The book "Hunger Games" was really great.
#5 Sledding.   Everyone had fun at the tubing hill.
#6 Spending time with family.  This was the first Christmas in a long time we were all together with all my Brother's and my Sister.  We enjoyed putting puzzles together, watching movies and talking about old times.
#7  Rock Band was a hit.  This is Cole singing Bon Jovi's "Live'n on a Prayer"
#8 DS Mario Kart cousin's tournament.  They linked all eight together and the race was on.
#9 Visiting Grandma Ogden and spending time with Jamie, Kerry and Bev in Enoch.
#10 Playing "Guess the Animal"  with the whole family.

Welcome Daisy Pace!

So here it goes a marathon of pace happenings........
The newest member of our family is Daisy the dog.  We got her in November.  She was left in a box on the door of a veterinarian a neighbor to Myrna (my mother-n-law).  She  knew we were looking for the perfect dog.  The rest is history.  Even though I'm not a dog person I have to admit her addition to our family has been nice.  For the most part she is a good dog.
